Job description
As a Senior Software Developer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in the conceptualization, development, and optimization of our complex software systems.
- Lead Development: Leading and executing demanding software development projects, from requirements analysis to go-live, while adhering to the highest quality standards.
- Technical Leadership: Assuming technical leadership in projects, coordinating development teams, and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Quality Assurance: Conducting code reviews, ensuring test coverage, and continuously improving our development processes and tools.
- Problem and Requirements Analysis: Analyzing complex technical problems and customer requirements, developing and implementing software changes for WCS (warehouse management system), MFC (material flow controller), and OFS (Order Fulfillment System) systems.
- Mentoring and Coaching: Actively supporting and providing technical guidance to junior developers within the team.
- Strategic Consulting: Providing technical advice and working closely with customers, project teams and customer support.
- Process Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing support and development processes in an international environment, particularly regarding 24/7 operational requirements.
Requirements
- Professional Experience: At least 7-10 years of profound professional experience in software development, ideally within the logistics, automation, or WCS + MFC environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities and a structured, solution-oriented approach to complex problems.
- Service Orientation: High degree of service and customer orientation.
- Technical Expertise:
- Excellent knowledge and several years of experience in Java software development (Java >=8, Hibernate, Log4J, EJB, etc).
- Proficient in handling complex databases, especially Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL).
- Experience with modern architectural concepts (e.g., MFC, Design patterns, etc).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Jira, Ant, Git, SVN)
- Communication: Fluent in written and spoken German and English. Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership Qualities: Proven experience in technical leadership of development teams or team lead roles.
- Willingness to Travel: Occasional willingness to travel for customer engagement and visiting current warehouse installations.
- Logistics IT: In-depth understanding of the logistics IT landscape and experience with automation environments / Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
